Identifyng Symbols In the Laboratory


   When we work in the Laboratory, we will deal with dangerous chemicals, so we must be careful. On the package of chemicals, usually there are symbols which show the danger level, such as the following.

1. Corrosive, can cause burn
Example : aluminium chloride, chloride acid, dense acetate acid, nitrate acid, sulphate acid, bromin, and calcium oxide.
 
2. Contact to Flammable material can cause Fire
Example : Amonium Sulphate, potassium iodate, magnesium, and silver nitrate.


3. Oxidizing easy to burn
Example : aluminium, acetone, ether, gasoline, ethanol, phenolphtalin, and methanol.



 4. Damaging Skin (irritation)
Example : Amonium Chloride, Axalate acid, barium chloride, iron ( III ) Chloride, and Natrium Nitrate.



5. Poisonous
Example : aniline sulphate, formaldehide, mercury, and methanol.

 6. Explosive
Example : ammonium nitrate, nitrate and nitrocellulose.
7. Dangerous for Environment
Example : radioactive chemical.
