Asteroidea is called sea star because its body is almost like a star. Its body consists of a middle part consisting of a disk and five arms, some of the arms are long and some are short. The skin is made of calc. The mouth lies on the underside of its body and it is directly linked to the stomach. The stomach and arm are connected by a channel. The anus is found in the middle part of its back side, but sometimes it does not exist. It has a high regeneration power. its food is oysters and snails.
The examples are the blue starfish (Linckia), and horn starfish (pentaceros).
